Hey, I'm Jaz! The face, heart and hands behind mini murray and me. 💗

I'm a Sydney-based resin artist, a wife, a mum to my beautiful boy Nixon, and someone who has always had a love for creating things that mean something.

But mini murray and me didn't start with resin or floral preservation.

It actually started because of my little boy.

How It All Began

When Nixon was born in 2017, our world changed in ways I never could have imagined.

Following a complicated birth, Nixon needed ongoing medical appointments and therapies. Returning to my previous career simply wasn't possible, and I found myself trying to figure out how I could contribute financially while still being the mum he needed me to be.

When Nixon was around nine months old, I decided to create personalised chocolates for his first birthday.

I shared them on Facebook Marketplace and received 60 enquiries in one day!

And just like that, mini murray and me was born.

What started with personalised party favours soon grew into party hire and event styling.

Then COVID happened, and everything changed again.

Finding My Love for Resin Art

With events coming to a standstill, I found myself watching resin art videos and became completely fascinated.

I enrolled in online classes, started experimenting and quickly discovered just how much I loved it.

Especially creating ocean-inspired artwork.

I've always had such a strong connection to the ocean, nature and animals, and being able to recreate the beauty of the sea through resin felt so natural to me.

What began as a creative outlet soon became a new direction for my business.

I started making ocean artworks, homewares, clocks and personalised keepsakes.

But there was another chapter waiting for me.

Turning Flowers Into Forever Memories

In September 2023, I married my husband, Stephen.

While planning our wedding, I realised just how much love, thought and money goes into wedding flowers.

And I couldn't stop thinking about how heart breaking it was that something so beautiful and meaningful would eventually be thrown away.

That's when I discovered floral preservation.

Today, I specialise in preserving flowers from weddings, funerals and life's most meaningful moments, transforming them into beautiful resin keepsakes.

Over time, memorial artwork has become an incredibly important part of what I do.

I also create personalised memorial pieces incorporating ashes, hair, fur and other sentimental inclusions, helping families honour the people and pets they love.

Being trusted with something so irreplaceable is something I will never take for granted.

What started as a little business I built around being a mum has grown into something I'm incredibly proud of.

And these days, I'm lucky enough to have Lauren working alongside me!

While I'm still very much the artist behind mini murray and me, having Lauren as part of the team has been such a special milestone.

Together, we work behind the scenes from our studio in Smeaton Grange, in Sydney's Macarthur region, carefully creating keepsakes for families across Australia.

Every order represents a person, a story or a memory that deserves to be treasured.

And that's something we never forget.

Mum First, Always

One thing that will never change is that I am, and always will be, a mum first.

Nixon is the reason this little business began, and being able to build something around my family has been one of my greatest achievements.

I take time away during NSW school holidays to be present with him, make memories and enjoy these years while he's still little.

Because one day he won't want Mum tagging along on every adventure, and I know I'll miss these moments more than anything.
